YouTube Music is enhancing its lyrics sharing feature by adding AI-generated background images that make shared lyrics feel more expressive and unique. The update builds on the existing tool that lets you highlight up to five lines of lyrics and share them with friends or on social media. Now, instead of choosing only from a set of static colors, you can select an AI option that produces a custom image based on the lyrics you picked.
Here is how it works in practice. When you tap the “Share” button in the Lyrics view, the icon shows a Gemini spark, indicating the presence of generative AI. After selecting the portion of lyrics you want to share, you can choose the AI background option from the carousel along with the existing color choices. YouTube Music then displays a message saying you are “Creating with AI” while it generates the image. The results take a few seconds to appear and try to match the vibe or content of the selected text. Sometimes the image might show a clear sky, a cup of coffee, or another scene that feels tied to the words you chose.

You can tap the button again if you want to generate a different background for the same lyrics. This makes the sharing experience more personal and creative, letting you tailor the look of your lyric cards before posting them. The new feature is rolling out to users both on Android and iOS and is available to both free accounts and YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States right now.
This upgrade joins a growing list of AI-driven tools in YouTube Music, like personalized “Ask for music” suggestions in the Home feed. While this lyric art maker is a small addition, it adds a fresh visual flair that makes sharing your favorite lines more fun and engaging. As music services continue to adopt creative AI features, these kinds of enhancements could soon be standard for how people express and share musical moments with others.
