Xiaomi has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be launched in China next week, without actually confirming the exact date.
The confirmation comes from Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, who also offered some more details about the phone in a separate Weibo post. Jun confirmed that Xiaomi will continue its partnership with Leica, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be the first phone from Xiaomi that will have a camera co-created with Leica.
We also now know that the 17 Ultra will feature a 1-inch sensor for the primary camera, and while other camera details haven’t been confirmed, recent leaks have offered some information about what to expect.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is likely to feature a triple camera set up, with a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 200MP periscope lens that has been co-developed with Leica.
The phone is also expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, IP68/69 rating, and a 7000mAh battery.
