Apple Has Officially Confirmed WWDC 2026 for June 8 to 12

Apple today officially announced that its 37th annual Worldwide Developers Conference will take place from June 8 to June 12, 2026. The conference will run primarily online and free for all developers, with a special in-person event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California on June 8 for selected developers and students.

WWDC26 will spotlight incredible updates for Apple platforms, including AI advancements and exciting new software and developer tools. That phrase, AI advancements, is the most meaningful signal Apple has given publicly about what to expect from the event, given that the company has been building toward a major Siri overhaul for nearly two years.

What Will Happen at the Keynote on June 8

WWDC always begins with a keynote that happens on the first day of the event, and this year’s keynote will take place on June 8 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple will unveil iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27.

Developer betas for all six operating systems will be made available immediately after the keynote concludes on June 8. Public beta versions of the OS updates come a month later in July after Apple has had more time to work on the pre-release software.

The In-Person Event

Apple does plan to hold an in-person component for select developers and students, with the event set to take place on June 8 at the Apple Park Campus in Cupertino, California. Attendees will be invited to watch the keynote and State of the Union at Apple Park, as well as meet with Apple employees and tour the campus.

Developers interested in attending the conference at Apple Park can apply to be selected. The deadline to apply for the random lottery is March 30. Apple says it will notify those selected to attend on April 2. Swift Student Challenge Distinguished Winners receive an automatic invitation to an extended three-day visit to Cupertino.

What AI Advancements to Expect

This year’s WWDC might finally show the revamped Siri with better personal context and on-screen awareness. Apple has been expected to launch a new Siri with advanced AI capabilities, and earlier this year signed a deal with Google to use Gemini to power AI features on its platform.

This year, Apple is expected to focus on refining last year’s Liquid Glass redesign, releasing Siri and Apple Intelligence features that are powered by Google’s Gemini AI models, and improving overall platform stability.

Beyond Siri, Apple is expected to preview Core AI at WWDC 2026, a new developer framework replacing Core ML. This will allow third-party app developers to integrate the same Gemini-powered Apple Intelligence capabilities into their own apps, opening up a new wave of on-device AI features across the App Store.

Possible Hardware at WWDC

The two desktop Macs might ship with macOS 26.4, so if they do not debut in the spring of 2026, they might be unveiled at WWDC 2026. The iPhone maker has unveiled Macs at WWDC, as it did with the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air in June 2022 and the 15-inch model in June 2023. The Mac mini M5 and Mac Studio M5, both of which have already been spotted in macOS 26.4 beta identifiers, are the strongest candidates for a WWDC hardware reveal this year.

How to Watch WWDC 2026 Live

The keynote and all the technical developer sessions are streamed directly through the Apple Developer app. You can also stream the big announcements on the main Apple website or catch the replays on YouTube. In China, the conference will be streamed on the Apple Developer Bilibili channel.

The keynote begins on June 8 at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. That is 1:00 PM Eastern Time, 6:00 PM BST, and 10:30 PM IST. You do not need an Apple Developer account to watch, and there is no cost to stream the event. More session schedules and details will be published on the Apple Developer website as June approaches.
