Roblox has officially announced its annual Developers Conference for 2026. RDC26 is returning to San Jose, California, and it is taking place from September 10 to 12, 2026.
This is the biggest event in the Roblox calendar for creators, developers, and anyone building experiences on the platform.
What Is RDC?
The Roblox Developer Conference — commonly called RDC — is Roblox’s flagship gathering for the global creator community. It brings together developers, designers, brands, and platform leaders for multiple days of sessions, announcements, and networking.
RDC is where Roblox tends to make some of its biggest platform announcements. Last year’s conference included reveals about new creator tools, AI features, and upcoming platform changes. The event is also notable for its networking aspect — many of the largest and most successful Roblox developers attend in person.
What to Expect at RDC26
Roblox confirmed that this year’s event has been moved earlier than usual. In previous years, RDC has taken place in late September. By starting on September 10, Roblox says it is adding special programming designed to bring creators together from the beginning.
While Roblox has not yet detailed what will be announced at RDC26, here are the areas where announcements are most likely based on what the platform has been working on:
AI and creator tools. Roblox has been heavily investing in its AI toolset for creators. The Cube 3D model and the 4D object system — which lets creators generate fully interactive, scriptable objects from a text prompt — are expected to see major updates. Roblox Studio’s MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration is also likely to get a showcase.
Monetisation changes. Roblox has been gradually increasing the Developer Exchange (DevEx) rate, allowing creators to earn more per Robux. Another increase or an improved payout structure could be announced at RDC26.
Platform safety. Roblox has been under scrutiny globally for child safety. The platform recently launched its Global Parent Council and expanded parental controls. Expect RDC26 to include a session on safety innovations and upcoming policy changes.
Roblox Moments. The platform’s built-in short-form content feed — essentially a TikTok-style feature where players can capture and share gameplay clips — has been growing fast. Updates to Moments are very likely to feature at RDC26.
Why This Matters for Roblox Players
RDC is primarily aimed at developers, but the announcements made there affect every Roblox player. New creator tools lead to better and more ambitious games. Changes to the monetisation structure affect how developers build and price their experiences. Platform features announced at RDC typically roll out to players in the months that follow.
If you play Roblox regularly, RDC26 will give you the clearest preview of what the platform will look like heading into 2027.

How to Follow RDC26
RDC26 is an in-person event, but Roblox streams key sessions and makes recordings available afterwards. If you are a developer or creator who cannot attend in person, you will still be able to follow along.
Registration details and a full agenda have not yet been published. Roblox says more information will be shared in the coming months. We will cover all the major announcements from RDC26 as they happen.
Roblox’s Bigger Moment in 2026
RDC26 comes at a significant time for Roblox. The platform has been growing rapidly — nine Roblox games now have over 10 million daily active users, up from three last year. Concurrent user peaks are approaching 45 million players online at the same time.
That scale of growth puts Roblox in a different conversation entirely from where it was even two years ago. RDC26 will be a chance for the company to show developers that it is building a platform worthy of their long-term investment.
