Apple Releases Third Public Beta for macOS Tahoe

Apple has just released the third public beta of macOS Tahoe, arriving a week after the previous version and matching the sixth developer beta. If you’re in the Beta Software Program, you can grab it from System Settings under Software Update.

macOS Tahoe brings the Liquid Glass design overhaul to the Mac in a big way. You’ll see more translucency and depth across app icons, folders, the Dock, menus, Control Center, and the Menu Bar. Control Center, folders, icons, and widgets can all be customized to your style.

Safari has a refreshed look, with a redesigned tab bar and updated sidebar layout. The Phone app is finally making its debut on Mac, bringing Wi-Fi calling with features like Call Screening and Hold Assist for smoother call handling.

Spotlight is also evolving. It’s no longer just a search bar; it’s becoming a command hub that lets you perform hundreds of tasks directly from the search interface without opening other apps. A new Games app is included as well, featuring a Game Overlay for quick controls and social options while you play.

Developers get upgrades too, including support for Metal 4, which promises more advanced graphics rendering and better performance.

This beta feels substantial rather than minor. It reflects Apple’s push to make macOS more fluid, customizable, and powerful while keeping it familiar.

If this public beta is anything to go by, macOS Tahoe is more than a routine update. It’s a mix of visual upgrades and workflow improvements that balance style and function. For anyone who enjoys customizing their Mac or depends on apps like Safari and Spotlight, it’s worth enrolling and trying out now.
