Apple has today officially announced the next version of macOS, and yes, it is indeed called macOS 26 Tahoe. This new numbering keeps it in-line with the rest of Apple’s software.
As expected, macOS 26 Tahoe brings with it a bunch of new features, and while a lot of them are good new additions, the most obvious change is definitely the redesign of the macOS interface with inspiration from visionOS. Rumors months before WWDC had been claiming that Apple will drop support for Intel-based Macs with this macOS update but it seems that that’s not exactly true. macOS 26 Tahoe: Release Date
Soon after the keynote is over, Apple will release the developer beta macOS 26, allowing developers (and others who are impatient enough) to try the new version of macOS on their laptops and desktops. A public beta will be coming out in July as well, followed by the actual stable release later this fall.
