Next Gen iPad Mini Could Get the A20 Pro Chip

If you’ve been keeping up with iPad mini rumors, you are probably aware that up until now, the next iPad mini was expected to come with an OLED display, and feature the A19 Pro chip.

However, a new report from MacRumors states that the next iPad mini might actually get the A20 Pro processor instead. The information comes from a MacRumors’ tipster who reportedly analyzed a macOS kernel debug kit and found codenames that hint towards the as-yet unreleased processor.

Obviously, since this is a leak, we would recommend taking this information with a pinch of salt. Earlier iPad mini models haven’t always come out with the latest A-series chipsets, so it is still a possibility that Apple will stick with the A19 Pro processor for the 2026 iPad mini, and not bring the A20 Pro chipset to the tiny tablet.

The A20 Pro will feature in the iPhone 18 Pro series which are expected to launch in September 2026. It’s expected to be built on TSMC’s 2nm process, and will join the likes of the upcoming Exynos 2600 which is also be built on a 2nm process with Samsung’s Gate All Around process.
