WWDC is fast approaching, and obviously one of the things everyone is looking forward to is the iOS 19 announcement. After all, with all the rumors around iOS 19, it’s hard not to wonder exactly what Apple is planning. Plus, I personally am interested in seeing what Apple has to say about Apple Intelligence as well. So, if you’re just as interested in the next iPhone update as I am, here is everything you need to know about iOS 19.
When Will iOS 19 Be Released
As far as the iOS 19 release date is concerned, we can be fairly specific.
Apple will release the Developer Beta for iOS 19 shortly after it finishes announcing everything we expect from WWDC 2025. Sometime in July, we will likely see the first Public Beta for iOS 19 be released.
The stable iOS 19 update will obviously arrive in September after the iPhone 17 launch event, and in-time for the new iPhones’ sale.
iOS 19 Features
There’s a fairly long list of expected iOS 19 features and you can read our interlinked article to get a detailed look at what iOS 19 is going to bring to your iPhones.
Chief among the new features and changes in iOS 19 is obviously the major UI revamp that is rumored to take heavy inspiration from visionOS. We also expect to see a redesigned camera app, support for RCS 3.0, generative photo editing, and maybe even a desktop mode for iPhones.
Most of the expected features are fairly plausible, and are likely to be a part of the iOS 19 launch. However, as has been the case in the past many years, it is likely that new features don’t show up all at once with the first couple of Developer and Public betas. Apple usually adds features over time during the beta stages.
But yeah, I’m quite excited about iOS 19 because if the leaks and reports are accurate, it should be a pretty big update for iPhones.
Devices Compatible with iOS 19
Most of the iPhones launched in the last few years will obviously be supported by iOS 19. However, if reports are to be believed, Apple will drop support for the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max this year.
