Google is rolling out a major new Gemini feature called Personal Intelligence. It is now available in beta to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the US. And it changes how Gemini understands your life.
Until now, Gemini was a powerful general assistant. But it started fresh every conversation. It did not know your schedule, your preferences, or your history. Personal Intelligence changes that.
What Is Personal Intelligence?
Personal Intelligence allows Gemini to connect securely to the apps you use every day. That includes things like your calendar, email, shopping history, and travel plans.
Once connected, Gemini can use that context to give you more relevant, personalized answers. You do not have to re-explain your situation every time you ask for help. Gemini already knows the background.
For example, if you ask for restaurant recommendations, Gemini can factor in your recent searches and dietary preferences. If you ask for help planning a trip, it can check your existing bookings and calendar availability.
How Does It Stay Private?
Google says the connection to your apps is secure. The feature works across web, Android, and iOS. Personal data is not shared with third parties or used to train Google’s models.
Users have full control over which apps Gemini connects to. You can grant or revoke access at any time through the Gemini settings.
Who Can Access It Right Now?
Personal Intelligence is currently in beta. It is rolling out to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the US. Google Workspace users on business or education plans do not yet have access.
The feature works across the Gemini web app, the Android app, and the iOS app.
Why This Matters
This is a direct response to what Apple has been promising with its next version of Siri. Apple has been working on a deeply personalized version of Siri that understands your personal context — but that feature has been repeatedly delayed. It is now expected with iOS 27. In the meantime, Google is not waiting. Personal Intelligence is live now for eligible users, which puts Gemini significantly ahead of Siri in this area.
For those following the broader AI assistant war, this connects directly to Apple’s decision to open Siri to rival AI assistants in iOS 27, including Gemini itself. The competition between these platforms is intensifying fast.
