Epic Games confirmed April 30 as the launch date for Chapter 7 Season 3 through its official Creator Roadmap update. The new season will arrive alongside Fortnite’s regular biweekly update schedule, meaning downtime is expected in the early hours of April 30 before the season goes live.
If history is anything to go by, you can expect servers to go down around 4 AM ET and return by mid-morning.
What Happens to Season 2?
Chapter 7 Season 2 still has several weeks left. Before Season 3 launches, there are a few things worth finishing up:
- Complete any outstanding Battle Pass challenges to claim all your rewards before they expire.
- Grab any limited-time skins while they are still in the Item Shop. Skins like the Tung Tung Tung Sahur and Ballerina Cappuccina have been among the most popular this season.
- Wrap up the Fortnite Endgame Challenges to earn the last batch of seasonal rewards.
- Get your cosmetics in order. Now is a great time to unlock items like Hope’s Drone Glider if you have not already.
What Can We Expect from Season 3?
Epic has not officially revealed the Season 3 theme yet. However, the April 30 date lines up with the annual Star Wars crossover window. May the Fourth falls just four days after launch, and Epic has consistently used that timing to introduce Star Wars content in Fortnite.
The community is already speculating about lightsaber pickaxes, Star Wars-themed skins, and possibly a new biome tied to a galaxy far, far away. Nothing is confirmed, but the timing makes this very likely.
