Nothing Phone 3 to Have Better Cameras and a Big Battery

Earlier this week, amidst all the announcements at the Android Show, Nothing CEO Carl Pei showed up to talk about the company’s upcoming smartphone: the Nothing Phone 3.

Pei didn’t really give away much about the phone itself; in fact, the device was completely and utterly blurred out when he held it up during the live stream. However, he did reveal the Nothing Phone 3 price, while talking about it being a “true flagship” from the company.

Now, some more information about the device has come out, thanks to the folks over at SmartPrix, shedding light on what we can expect from the Nothing Phone 3.

As per the report, the Nothing Phone 3 is internally codenamed “Metroid”, with the product code “A024”, as spotted on the GSM database and on BIS records.

More interesting, however, is that the report says the Nothing Phone 3 will be equipped with a reworked camera system, including a triple rear camera system. This rear camera set up might feature a large primary sensor, along with a bigger periscope lens (as I had previously mentioned in my expectations about the upcoming smartphone as well).

The report also says that Nothing will make the battery bigger on the Nothing Phone 3, which means it should be larger than the 5000mAh unit we’ve seen in some recent smartphones from the brand.

Toasty Take

I’m honestly excited about the Nothing Phone 3. I’m still wondering whether the phone will be able to justify its expected $1000+ price tag, but it sure makes me think that Nothing has really put in a lot of work into this phone.

A reworked camera system, bigger battery, and of course a flagship chipset do make for a really compelling flagship by themselves. However, Nothing will also have to ensure that the build quality, the design, and everything else is also compelling. Here’s hoping!
