Nothing Phone 3 Price Revealed by Carl Pei

The Nothing Phone 3 is on the horizon, and if you’ve been waiting on tenterhooks for the company to announce the price tag of its upcoming flagship smartphone, well, Carl Pei has just delivered both the good and the bad news for you.

Making a surprise appearance during all the announcements at The Android Show, Nothing CEO Carl Pei talked about the brand’s upcoming smartphone, and gave us a price reveal (of sorts).

Pei said that the new Nothing Phone 3 will be priced somewhere around £800, which is nearly $1068. That’s obviously a major price jump over the brand’s usual price range for its smartphones. The Nothing Phone 2, for example, was launched at around $600, which is almost half the price of the Phone 3.

Still, the price reveal does give us some idea on what to expect from the phone when it does finally launch. Coming in at the premium flagship price tag, the phone will undoubtedly feature, at the very least, things that other flagships bring. Think Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, triple camera set up on the back, maybe some periscope goodness thrown in for good measure, and of course high refresh rate display with LTPO support.

Toasty Take

There’s absolutely nothing (pun intended) wrong with pricing a phone at a flagship price-point. However, Nothing will have to prove a lot with the Nothing Phone 3.

As they say, with a great price tag comes great responsibility, and crossing the $1000 mark will undoubtedly put on Nothing, the onus of making the Phone 3 worth the price. Whether it’s in terms of the design, the build quality, the performance, cameras, battery, or anything else — the Nothing Phone 3 will have to really prove that it’s worth the £800-ish price tag.

What do you think about the pricing? Would you consider the Nothing Phone 3 as your next flagship purchase or would you rather the company stuck with its mid-range price tags for its smartphones? Let us know in the comments.
