WWDC 2026 Is Expected to Be Announced This Week: Everything We Know

Apple has not yet officially confirmed the dates for WWDC 2026, but the announcement could arrive any day now. Last year, Apple announced WWDC 2025 on Tuesday, March 25. Based on that pattern and Apple’s consistent June conference calendar, most analysts and Apple watchers expect the official WWDC 2026 announcement to land this week or early next week. Here is everything that is known so far.

When Is WWDC 2026 Expected?

Apple holds its Worldwide Developers Conference annually in the first or second week of June. Based on recent history, the most likely window is June 8 to June 12, 2026, with the keynote kicking off on Monday, June 8 at 10 AM Pacific Time. That translates to 1 PM Eastern, 6 PM BST, and 10:30 PM IST.

Apple typically announces the event date four to six weeks in advance. Given that iOS 26.4 is rolling out to all users this week, the WWDC announcement is the natural next signal for Apple’s software roadmap. Developer registration for in-person attendance typically opens at the same time as the date announcement.

What Format to Expect

Like WWDC 2025, this year’s conference is expected to be a hybrid event. The keynote and all developer sessions will be streamed free of charge online, accessible through apple.com, the Apple TV app, the Apple Developer app, and Apple’s YouTube channel. A limited number of developers and students will be invited to attend in person at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

What Apple Is Expected to Announce

iOS 27

iOS 27 is the centrepiece of WWDC 2026. Most observers describe it as Apple’s “Snow Leopard” update: a focus on stability, performance, and refining the foundations laid by iOS 26, rather than introducing a sweeping visual redesign.

Key features expected in iOS 27 include the first full conversational Siri chatbot, built on Apple’s Gemini-powered Foundation Models. This is the Siri that was originally promised at WWDC 2024 and has been delayed through the entire iOS 26 cycle. iOS 27 will also introduce support for Apple’s first foldable iPhone, with adaptive layouts, split-pane multitasking, and gesture controls designed for the dual-screen form factor.

Developer betas for iOS 27 will be available to enrolled developers immediately after the keynote. A public beta is expected four to six weeks later, around late June or early July. The final public release is expected in September 2026 alongside iPhone 18 Pro and the foldable iPhone.

macOS 27, watchOS 27, and the Rest

macOS 27, iPadOS 27, tvOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 will all be previewed at the same keynote. macOS 27 will mirror iOS 27’s performance and AI focus, and is expected to lay the software groundwork for the OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro rumoured for late 2026.

Possible Hardware

Apple occasionally uses WWDC to announce hardware aimed at developers and power users. The strongest candidates for a WWDC reveal this year are the Mac Studio M5 and Mac mini M5, both of which have been spotted in macOS 26.4 beta identifiers and are expected around mid-2026. A Mac Pro refresh is also overdue, as the current model still uses the M2 Ultra chip.

Core AI Developer Framework

Apple is expected to unveil Core AI at WWDC 2026, a new developer framework replacing Core ML. This will allow third-party app developers to integrate the same Gemini-powered Apple Intelligence capabilities into their own apps, opening a new wave of on-device AI features across the App Store.

When Will Apple Confirm the Date?

Apple has not published an official WWDC 2026 page yet. Watch apple.com/apple-events and the Apple Developer website. When the page goes live, it will contain registration details for in-person attendance, session schedules, and instructions for online access. The announcement typically arrives with little warning and spreads quickly across Apple news sites.

We will update this article the moment Apple makes the official announcement.
