Even though it first launched back in September 2024, iOS 18 is reaching a certain level of maturity only now. With most of the Apple Intelligence features finally here, and the expansion of Apple Intelligence to more places (Hello, India!), iOS 18 is starting to take shape. While I’m sure you’ve all spent countless hours using iOS 18 already, there are also a lot of hidden iOS features that you might not know about. So, here are 10 iOS 18 hidden features you probably missed.
1. Copy and Paste Photo Edits
If you use the built-in Photos app for editing your iPhone pictures, iOS 18 has an impressive new feature for you. You can now copy and paste edits from one photo to another. This makes it very easy to quickly apply a similar edit to multiple photos — almost reminiscent of Lightroom Presets.
All you have to do is tap the three dots on an edited photo and select “Copy Edits“. Then, go to a different image and tap on “Paste Edits” in the three dots menu.

2. Edit Photos in Your Preferred Theme
Sometimes it’s nice to keep your iPhone in dark mode (to save battery, suuure), but it makes editing photos a bit annoying because of all the dark backgrounds and everything. Well, with iOS 18 you can now choose a preferred theme for editing photos, and this can be entirely different from your system theme if you so wish.
- Simply tap on the “Edit” icon. Then, tap on the three dots and select “System”, “Light”, or “Dark” under “Appearance”.

3. Add Multiple Languages to the Same Keyboard
I am sure you know that you can add keyboards of multiple languages to your iPhone and switch between them to quickly write in different languages. However, with iOS 18, you get multilingual keyboard. This means that you can have a single keyboard with up to three languages, and you can write in all three languages without having to change keyboards.
Note: This feature is only supported for specific language pairs, and doesn’t work with all languages.
- Simply go to Settings -> General -> Keyboard

- Tap on “Keyboards” and then on your primary keyboard

- Tap on “Add Language” and choose the secondary language you want to add

That’s it. You will now be able to use the same keyboard with both languages, including multiple scripts if the languages have different scripts with which to write.
4. Your Keyboard Can Now Solve Math Equations
iOS 18 also brings other improvements to the built-in iPhone keyboard. One such improvement is that your keyboard can now solve math equations inline.
This comes in very handy when you’re in the middle of a group chat, discussing tickets for the latest Mission Impossible movie, and figuring out how much each person owes. Simply type the calculation (2404/4) and the keyboard will auto-suggest the result.

5. Adjust Your Flashlight Beam and Intensity
With iOS 18, Apple has also made the iPhone flashlight a lot better. Sure, the flashlight is something you will use very rarely, but when you do use it, you’ll be glad to have these added features. When you turn on your flashlight now, you can use the Dynamic Island to adjust the brightness/intensity of your flashlight, and you can even adjust the beam-width of your flashlight.

So, you can make it narrow and focused, or you can spread it out over a wider area, and it really makes a difference.
6. Share AirTag with Others
AirTags are great for keeping a track of your keys, bags, and even your dog. And with iOS 18, Apple is making AirTags even more useful. You can now share your AirTag with others, so they can track its location as well.
This can come in handy for keeping a track of your checked-in luggage with airlines, and even for ensuring that all your family members can check on the location of the family doggo. Many airlines around the world have already started accepting AirTags as a method to find lost luggage.
You can share an AirTag by opening the Find My app, and choosing the Share AirTag option.
By the way, even Android is now beginning to support sharing trackers with airlines, as announced during the Android Show 2025.
7. New 5 Second Timer in the Camera App
Have you ever tried taking a group photo with your iPhone using the camera timer? I’m sure you have, and I am equally certain that you’ve struggled with the 3-second timer being too short, and the 10-second timer being way too long. With iOS 18, Apple seems to have finally realized that a 5-second timer is the sweet spot.
Now, when you’re enabling the timer before taking a picture on your iPhone, you will be able to set the timer to 5 seconds. This is a really useful hidden iOS 18 feature.
8. Pause Video Recording
With iOS 18, you can finally pause video recording. This is really useful because up until now you had to stop the video recording and then start a new recording when needed.
Now, you can simply pause and resume video recording, which makes it a lot easier to capture memories and create fun videos on your iPhone.
9. Schedule Messages in iMessage
I really love using iMessage, but one thing I have always wanted is the ability to schedule messages. Thankfully, with iOS 18, that’s no longer a dream.
You can now schedule messages in iMessage, and the messages will be sent automatically at the pre-set time.
You can tap on the plus icon in iMessage and tap on “Send Later” to schedule a message in an iMessage thread.

10. Remove Ads in Safari
Adblockers are useful and all, but a lot of websites these days play an Uno Reverse on adblockers by blocking the adblockers themselves. Well, with iOS 18, Safari now gets a way to remove ads from websites.
- Simply tap on the left-most icon in Safari’s address bar, and then tap on “Hide Distracting Items“

- Now, you can just tap on the ads and they will fade away, much like Peter Parker in Avengers: Infinity War (too soon?)

Bonus: Share WiFi Passwords with QR Codes
Ah, WiFi passwords. They are the bane of our connected existence. What with everyone constantly asking each other for their WiFi passwords, it can get annoying to keep spelling out “Lordofthepings, capital L” to everyone.
Well, with iOS 18, you can use the new Passwords app to share WiFi passwords using a QR code. It’s cool, it’s useful, and it’s stupid simple. Just scan the code, and connect to the network. No more explaining the joke behind the name “Lord of the Pings” to your not-so-technologically-inclined friends.
So, those were the 10 best iOS 18 hidden features that you probably didn’t know about. Know of any other hidden features that many people aren’t aware of? Let us know in the comments.
