Moto X70 Air Pro will Get a Periscope Camera

Motorola is teasing a Pro version of its ultra-slim X70 Air phone that could bring a periscope telephoto camera into the lineup. The company has shared early hints of Moto X70 Air Pro, and leaks indicate the camera array will be one of its defining upgrades. The standard X70 Air has a dual rear camera setup, but the Pro version is expected to add a periscope zoom lens alongside main and ultrawide sensors, giving you much stronger zoom performance than before.

Periscope lenses let phones achieve higher optical zoom without adding bulk, and including one in a slim profile like the X70 Air family suggests Motorola is trying to balance camera capability with lightweight design. Early teasers shared by the brand describe the upcoming Pro model as “more Pro” with an emphasis on AI features and imaging enhancements, showing that photography is a strategic focus for this refresh.

Along with the camera bump, the Moto X70 Air Pro could support faster charging than the standard model. Certification filings point to up to 90W wired fast charging, which is an upgrade over the 67W offered by the original X70 Air and its global sibling, the Edge 70. A larger battery is also likely, helping offset the demands of advanced camera hardware and daily use.

Performance is expected to improve too. A Geekbench listing has hinted that the Pro model will run on a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 5 chip, positioning it above the standard device without pushing it into premium flagship tiers. Software will be Android 16 out of the box with Motorola’s Hello UI layered on top.

Motorola has not announced a launch date yet, but early teasers and leaks suggest we could see the X70 Air Pro enter China’s market in the coming weeks, possibly under the Edge 70 Pro name globally. If the periscope camera and charging upgrades hold up in final specs, this could be one of the more compelling mid-range camera phones of early 2026.
