Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3.1 is Here with 24 Bug Fixes for Pixel Devices

Google has quietly pushed out Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3.1, a focused update packed with fixes for Pixel users. It’s available now for a wide range of devices including Pixel 6, 7, 8, and 9 series, the Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and more, all bundled with the July 2025 security patch.

What’s new is all about stability and polish. This release tackles reboots and network issues tied to Wi-Fi, as well as crashes related to the Context Hub sensor using too much memory. If your home screen lost its pinned apps or search bar during transitions, that’s now fixed. The update also cleans up overlapping notifications, corrects layout glitches in Quick Settings on foldables, and solves misalignments between status bars.

Other improvements smooth out system rough edges too. A camera sensor bug that blocked ambient light reading during unlock is resolved, and the media player now reliably appears after rotation. Users also benefit from fewer surprise restarts during updates, better handling of notification shade animation, and improved Bluetooth reliability. Other fixes target call sound when jumping into video calls, stray black bars after exiting fullscreen apps, widget load errors, typing delays, flickering after launching from notifications, and crashes during media use connected to a computer.

In short, Beta 3.1 isn’t about flashy new features. It’s about making the Android experience more consistent and reliable. If you’re running the QPR1 beta on a Pixel device, this update is the kind of behind-the-scenes polish that makes everyday use smoother.
