Obviously, screenshots are the way to go about it, but if you’ve just upgraded from a phone older than the iPhone 8, or if you’ve made the switch from an Android device, well, taking a screenshot on iPhones is slightly different than what it is on Android. So, if you’re wondering how to screenshot on iPhone, well, here’s how to take a screenshot on an iPhone.

How to Take a Screenshot on iPhone X and Above

If you are wondering how to screenshot iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS or any of the Face ID packing iPhones (including the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max), here’s how you can take a screenshot:

  • On your iPhone, go to the app or page that you want to take a screenshot of.
  • Now, press the power button and the volume down button on your iPhone at the same time, and let go.

  • On your iPhone open the Settings app and go to “General“. Here, tap on “Accessibility“.

If your iPhone is running iOS 11 or above (iOS 12, iOS 13), you can directly edit a screenshot after you take it. Simply tap on the screenshot when it shows up on the bottom corner of your iPhone, and you’ll be taken to the built in markup tool in iOS. Here, you can annotate the screenshot, crop it, and basically make small edits to it before you share it.
