I have never shied away from telling people that the Apple Watch’s default app screen sucks. While you can re-arrange the icons in that screen to make it slightly better, or use a list layout instead, the thing is, accessing your more commonly used apps is not very easy on the Apple Watch. On a Mac, iPhone, or an iPad you have the dock where you can place your most commonly used apps, and you always have quick access to them whenever you need it. Well, you can get a dock in watchOS 6 as well; in fact it’s already there, all you have to do is customise it. So here is how to customise the Dock in watchOS 6:
How to Customise the Dock in Apple Watch
Customising the App Dock in watchOS 6 is very easy. Here is what you need to do:
- Launch the ‘Watch’ app on your iPhone, and tap on ‘Dock’. Here, change the dock ordering to ‘Favorites’ instead of ‘Recents’.
- Tap on ‘Edit’ in the top-right corner, and set your favourite apps to the dock. Then tap on ‘Done’.
Now your Apple Watch dock will no longer show recent apps, instead it will always show your favourite apps.
Customise the Apple Watch Dock in watchOS 6
One of the best things about customising the dock in watchOS 6 is the fact that it brings a bunch of your most used apps right there at your fingertips whenever you need them. You can simply press the side-button on your Apple Watch to open the Dock and you’ll always find your chosen favourite apps there. This has made it a lot easier for me to access apps like Authy on my watch which I use a lot for entering 2FA codes on my social media accounts. So what do you prefer in your watchOS dock? Your recently used apps or your favourites? Let me know in the comments down below.
