The Apple Watch is pretty great, and it’s definitely one of the best smartwatches out there, including all of the Wear OS smartwatches available in the market. The Apple Watch can let you track your workouts, keep a check on your fitness, show your notifications, take calls, and so much more. That said, the one thing I don’t really like about the Apple Watch is the app screen. Those app icon bubbles in the app screen might look good and pretty, but they make it very difficult to find apps you’re looking for. Fortunately, there’s an easy solution. Here is how you can change the app layout in Apple Watch to a List:
How to Change Apple Watch App Screen to List
Changing the app screen on your Apple Watch to a list is very easy. Just follow the steps below:
- On your Apple Watch, press the Digital Crown. This will open the app screen on your Apple Watch.
- Now, firmly press on the screen of your Apple Watch. You will now see two options. Simply select the “List View” option here.
That’s it, your Apple Watch will now show apps in a list instead of the usual grid of bubbles that makes it terribly difficult to find apps, especially if you have a lot of them installed, as I have. Pretty easy, right?
You can now even scroll through the list of apps with the Digital Crown instead of having to tolerate the crown performing the weird zooming in-and-out action that it performs in the grid view, which is just icing on the cake.

Change App Screen Layout in Apple Watch Easily
One of the first things I recommend any of my friends or family members to do when they buy (or receive as a gift) a new Apple Watch is to change the default app view to a list because that just makes life easier in the long run. True, if you only have a couple of apps installed on the watch, the grid view might not seem too bad, and it also looks beautiful. However, once you start installing third party apps on your Apple Watch, you will get frustrated from the app screen unless you change the layout to a list view. So, which app view do you prefer on your Apple Watch, grid view or list view? Let me know in the comments below.
